Cat collar
It’s common to see cats without collars, but this is not a good idea. Responsible cat owners should keep a cat collar on their cat at all times. In America there is a large population of stray cats, these cats are often trapped and many are euthanized if they cannot find a home for them.
They are not just a fashion accessory for kitty. Keeping a cat collar on the animal lets authorities know that he or she belongs to someone. The collar also provides crucial medical information on the cat, including rabies vaccinations and whether a microchip is present or not.
Cat collars are designed with a safety break away feature. This is because cats do a lot of climbing and can sometimes become tangled on branches and fences. If enough force is applied the collar will break off, preventing strangulation. This feature is usually exclusive to cat collars, so a dog collar will not be safe for a cat.
